1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of WordSearch Winners, also referred to as WordSearch International (the “App”), operated by Yohann Taieb (“we,” “us,” or “the operator”).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. The App
WordSearch Winners is an open-source word-search game. You may play locally without an account. Optional online features may include accounts, scores, leaderboards, challenges, achievements, and multiplayer, provided through a self-hosted PocketBase backend.
The App does not include advertisements. Availability of online features may depend on your device, network, and whether the backend is reachable.
Open-source code for the project, if published, is licensed separately under the license files in that source repository. These Terms cover your use of the distributed App and our operated online features. They do not replace any open-source license that applies to the code.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You may use basic local play without creating an account. If you create an account or use online features, you must be old enough to do so under the laws of your country, or you must have a parent or guardian’s consent where that is required.
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate account information.
- Keeping your password confidential.
- Activity that occurs under your account.
We may refuse, suspend, or close an account if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or if the service is being abused.
4. License to use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial play.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or redistribute the App except as allowed by an applicable open-source license or by law (including fair use / fair dealing).
- Circumvent security or access-control features, or attempt unauthorized access to the App or its servers.
- Reverse-engineer the App except as allowed by an applicable open-source license or by law.
- Use the App to harm others, interfere with servers, or cheat on leaderboards, challenges, or multiplayer.
- Misrepresent scores, identities, or match results.
- Use automated means to scrape, overload, or disrupt the backend.
If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement may also apply. If there is a conflict with Apple’s standard EULA on a topic Apple requires, Apple’s required terms control for that topic.
5. Online features, scores, and multiplayer
Scores, leaderboards, challenges, achievements, and multiplayer are optional. We may change, throttle, or discontinue online features. Leaderboards and matches may be reset, moderated, or corrected if we believe results were obtained unfairly or in error.
Display names, scores, and gameplay information you submit to online features may be visible to other players as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. User conduct
You agree not to use the App to harass, threaten, or impersonate others, to post unlawful content, or to interfere with other players’ enjoyment of the game. We may remove content or restrict access as we reasonably consider necessary.
7. Intellectual property
The App’s name, branding, and the operator’s rights in the distributed App are reserved, except for rights granted to you under these Terms or under an applicable open-source license. You do not acquire ownership of the App by using it.
Feedback you send us (for example, via GitHub Issues on the support page) may be used to improve the App without obligation to you.
8. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. The App does not show ads, and we do not sell personal data.
9. Third-party services
If you contact us on GitHub or use other third-party sites, those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. App Store distribution is also subject to Apple’s terms between you and Apple.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The App and online features are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that scores or multiplayer results will always be accurate or available.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers. In those places, the disclaimer applies only to the extent permitted.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost scores, or lost goodwill, arising from your use of the App.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the App is limited to the amount you paid to us for the App in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or USD $10 if you paid us nothing.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, where such a limit is not allowed).
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it and, if you wish, requesting deletion of an optional account. We may suspend or stop providing all or part of the App, including online features, at any time.
Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive termination.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page will change when we do. If you continue to use the App after the updated Terms are posted, you are expected to review them. If you do not agree, stop using the App.
14. General
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will still apply. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App, except for any open-source licenses that apply to the code and except for Apple’s required App Store terms where applicable.
These Terms do not create any partnership or employment relationship.
