1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Yohann Taieb (“we,” “us”) handles information for the iOS and iPadOS app Video Teleprompter Pro (the “App”).
2. Information we collect
None. The App has no backend server, no user accounts, and no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not receive your name, email, location, contacts, device identifiers, scripts, recordings, or usage data.
3. Scripts, settings and videos on your device
The scripts you write or import (text, Markdown, RTF, HTML, PDF, Word files), your folders, prompter settings, and the takes you record are stored locally in the App on your device. When you save a take, it is added to your Photos library, which requires your permission. Files you import are read only after you pick them. Deleting the App deletes its local data; videos you saved to Photos stay in Photos until you delete them. Your device's own backups (for example iCloud Backup, if you turned it on) may include App data under Apple's terms.
4. Camera, microphone and Photos
The App uses the camera and microphone only to record you while you read, and only after you grant permission in iOS. Recordings are not uploaded anywhere by the App. Photos access is add-only: the App saves your takes but does not read your library.
5. Speech recognition
Voice-scroll (the script follows your speech) and automatic captions use Apple's Speech framework. The App asks it to process audio on your device. On older devices or languages where on-device recognition is not available, Apple's Speech framework may process audio on Apple's servers under Apple's Privacy Policy; we never receive that audio or the transcript. Voice-scroll and captions are optional and only run when you turn them on.
6. Remote control (local network)
The remote-control feature uses Apple's MultipeerConnectivity to connect another iPhone or iPad near you over Wi-Fi, peer-to-peer Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Only playback commands (play, pause, speed, scroll position) and the device name you see when pairing are exchanged directly between your devices. Nothing passes through our servers. iOS asks for Local Network permission before this works.
7. In-app purchases
The Pro and Studio subscriptions, Lifetime Pro, and add-on packs are sold through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes payment and manages subscriptions under Apple's Privacy Policy. The App only receives a signed confirmation of what you are entitled to; we do not receive your payment information.
8. Ratings and sharing
The App may occasionally show Apple's standard rating prompt, handled entirely by iOS. When you tap Share on a take or caption file, it is handed to the iOS share sheet and nothing is sent unless you choose a destination.
9. Children
Because we collect no personal information, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Purchases are subject to Apple's parental controls (Ask to Buy, Screen Time).
10. Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on a server. Local data is fully under your control on your device. We do not sell or share personal information.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
